This movie is better than its reviews. It’s definitely worth a rental. The writer clearly was influenced by Robert Anton Wilson (duh), and the plot is reminds me of The King in Yellow something fierce. But, despite those clear influences, it managed to remain a very original show.
The reviews are the pretty much universally harsh. I really don’t know why. Jim Carrey does an excellent job (screw the “miscast” stuff in reviews). The story is good, the plot is good, and it’s definitely worth the rental. Particularly if you’re 23-disposed by too much exposure to Robert Anton Wilson and other cranks.
