“Dave’s Lounge” Kicks Off the EnfranchisedMind Podcast Feed

Published by Robert Fischer at 10:35 AM under Admin, Sample Podcasts

Most people know that I’m a big fan of podcasts. I’ve regularly mentioned In the Loop in my Twitter stream, regularly ping Lovespirals to keep their podcasts coming (and they mentioned me in Chillin with Lovespirals #61!), have blogged on interesting podcasts before, have recently been on the Groovy/Grails/Griffon Podcast, and I listen to quite a few others. I even planned on doing my own podcast once upon a time, but that never even really surfaced.

Anyway, since I do like podcasts so much and listen to so many and so varied podcasts, I’ve decided to start sharing interesting podcast episodes directly with my blog readers. There is now an EnfranchisedMind podcast feed at http://enfranchisedmind.com/blog/feed/podcast/. I’m linking directly to the original MP3, so the download counts still count for the original podcaster’s syndication, so you don’t have to feel bad about not subscribing. But it also means that it’s easy to stay up-to-date with my media appearances and other things I find interesting.

For the inaugural episode of the EnfranchisedMind podcast*, I’m linking to Dave’s Lounge #50. This is a very nicely produced, downtempo-mixed talk given by celebrity-in-my-mind Dave Warner at the Duke Podcast Symposium (which happened before I got down to Durham). Dave’s Lounge is awesome coding music, which is why I encourage people to buy my book through this link — if you use that link, Dave’s Lounge gets a cut of your purchase (with no skin off your back), and that encourages him to make more episodes, which gives me more good coding/writing music, which will result in more books from me1.

Dave’s Lounge #50 is interesting in particular, because it lays out why Dave does Dave’s Lounge, and why podcasting and podcast-friendly music licensing in general is so critical in this moment in the evolution of the music business. So enjoy it!

* When you subscribe, you’ll see some old episodes. They’re automatically detected linked media in my old posts. They were detected by the very cool Powerpress WordPress plugin.
1 That was true, but the link has shifted to supporting Anji Bee due to Amazon discontinuing their affiliate program in North Carolina.
