I knew it

We’ve all long suspected that there was something in the water of Washington D.C. that caused everyone who moved there to become morons.

Well, now we know- it was lead.

Which explains a lot.

I’ve been told that one of the reasons Rome fell as an empire is that they used lead to build their aqueducts. Which lead to wide-scale lead poisoning with the resultant stupidity. Fortunately, we’re not stupid enough to make our water pipes out of lead, right? Right?

And remember- before you get to make fun of this, that the project was canceled because it was costing money. And that by making fun of this, you (and I) are explicitly advocating that we should spend the money to fix DC’s water pipes. And all the other upgrades and repairs needed.
