Greetings from Brooklyn
Greetings one and all, I yet live. I’ve landed here in Brooklyn, and gotten things up at least far enough that I can piggy back off of someone’s open wireless and send/receive some email.
I’m hoping to get some digital photos set up somewhere of my new apartment and the street I’m on. OK, before I get into it, my apartment has two problems: 1) it’s got basically no kitchen (dorm fridge, hot plate, and microwave), and 2) it’s a fifth floor walkup. For those of you who don’t know the NYC apartment scene, that means I’m on the fifth floor of a building with no elevator. Trust me, I now *KNOW* what that means (and my feet and legs won’t let me forget it). I also know two other things: 1) I’m not in shape at the moment, and 2) I’m damned well going to be RSN.
There are some pictures Thomas has been taking from his phone here to tide you over at:

The nice thing about my apartment is it’s location. You know those streets large cities get, with all sorts of interesting shops and restaurants just jammed in together, with apartments above? That’s where I live. I swear it’d take weeks, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, just to hit all of the places within a few blocks of me.
Tomorrow is my first day of work, so I should have more to tell then. Until then, I’m doing fine (except for sore feet and legs).

By the way, I haven’t gotten outgoing email working yet- I can receive email but not send it. So if people could forward this link on to bogo, asic, etc. it’d be greatly appreciated.
